Classmates,
I am very saddened to let all of you know that Matt
Kelly passed away this past Saturday, March 24th.
It is hard to come to terms with this but we all know
he is in a better place now. My prayers go out to his
family.
FYI - A monetary donation will be sent to his
scholarship on behalf of the Wilson High School Class
of 1996.

Matthew T. Kelly
Matthew Todd Kelly, 29, Sinking Spring, died March 24,
2007, in UNC Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, N.C.
Matthew had been living in Chapel Hill for the past
nine months, awaiting a double lung transplant.
He lost his courageous battle with cystic fibrosis
after many years of declining health.
Born in West Reading, Matthew was a son of Kevin and
Mary Beth (Demich) Kelly, Sinking Spring.
Matthew was a 1996 graduate of Wilson High School and
a 2001 graduate with honors from Penn State University
with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts.
Matthew was an avid sports enthusiast. He followed all
types of sports, especially football.
He also is survived by a sister, Keri Lyn Kelly, West
Lawn.
Other survivors include his maternal grandfather, Hal
E. Demich, Pittsburgh; and his paternal grandparents,
Joseph E. and Alice Kelly, West Lawn.
There are also 15 aunts and uncles, 13 cousins and
numerous caring and supportive friends.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Alice
(Garvey) Demich, in 2003.
A celebration of life will be Saturday at noon in West
Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Penn Ave., West Lawn.
Inurnment will be in the Jefferson Hills Memorial
Gardens, Pittsburgh.
No flowers, please. An endowment fund in Matthew's
name is being established to award scholarships to
students afflicted with cystic fibrosis. Donations may
be sent to Matthew Kelly Memorial Fund in care of
BCCF, P.O. Box 212, Reading PA 19603-0212.
Walkers Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, N.C., is in charge
of arrangements.
